When there’s snow on the ground, you can snowshoe almost anywhere where you’d normally hike.  Snowshoeing across the Scenic Caves Nordic Centre’s suspension bridge is a highlight as well as guided night snowshoe hikes.  Just outside your suite door at Royal Harbour Resort, you can get on the Georgian Trail, a 34 km un-groomed linear trail, perfect for uncomplicated cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. It follows the route of the original northern railway along the southern shore of Georgian Bay.  Other forest snowshoe trails in the area can be found at Loree Forest, Eugenia Falls, Pretty River Valley Provincial Park and Trout Hollow in Meaford.

Outdoor Ice Skating in Blue Mountain

Affordable, easy to learn and so much fun, ice skating guarantees to put some major laughter on your winter break. Collingwood’s outdoor skating rink is open for free skating throughout the winter. Blue Mountain Resort’s old-fashioned Mill Pond, located in the centre of the Village, is also open for skating during the winter season, as is the Woodview Mountaintop Skating Trail. Many indoor arenas are also located throughout the region.
